My husband is the fastest reader I have ever encountered. His comprehension rate is phenomenal too. As a child he joined the adult library of 2 libraries and his family gave him all of their library cards just so that he could get his weekly supply of books. School somewhat bored him.
After his postgraduate studies he really took charge of his own development and now reads a staggering amount of non-fiction. His interests are mainly business management/theory, zen, taoism, kung fu, taijiquan, baguazhang, philosophy, theology, self-help, pop-psychology, anatomy, massage, CTM, martial theory and language.
The older he gets, the more like Jiddu Krishnamurti he sounds.
