Star Wars: Episode 7 is being made by the guy who produced the recent Star Trek movies and the TV show Lost (a fitting name for a rudderless show?). Will he do a better job than George Lucas?
I am predicting a fast edited action movie with no spiritual component whatsoever.

Star Wars original trilogy...
Re-watched the original Star Wars trilogy this weekend. We enjoyed the first two movies but Return of the Jedi wasn't a good conclusion.
I was quite shocked overall at how bad an actor Harrison Ford is. He really can't act at all. The romantic relationship between Solo and the Princess totally lacked chemistry; not believable at all.
Darth Vader is Luke's father? OK, a good twist.
Leia & Luke are brother and sister? Lame.
The recently inserted Jabba in Star Wars has green eyes. In Return of the Jedi his eyes are brown. In Star Wars he's a cartoon whereas in Return of the Jedi he's a plastic puppet.
Luke's lightsaber training on the Falcon in Star Wars featured a green beam but he doesn't build a green beam sabre until Return of the Jedi.
Obi-wan Kenobi said that he changed his name to Ben before Luke was born. Not the case in Episode 3.
Leia said that she remembered her birth mother. Yet, in Episode 3 her birth mother died whilst giving birth.
How sloppy/careless is George Lucas? Money leads to complacency.

Playing the victim?
Movies and TV shows nowadays are very fond of portraying the villain as being a victim.
If Star Wars was re-made, I guess Darth Vader would be the likeable anti-hero, Obi-wan Kenobi his zealous persecutor and Luke Skywalker some sort-of Nazi Youth League guy?
We'd have to listen to Vader give long, whining stories about the challenge of being a bad parent whilst he goes out to kill and torture thousands.
He'd be the main reason why people watched the movie and everyone would feel sorry for him.
When did things get so messed-up?

Noah has help
I forgot to mention that Noah enlists the help of Percy Jackson, Hermione Granger and Odin from Thor.
The film producers even managed to squeeze in the Zen story about a man who is chased to a cliff side by tigers and eats a berry in defiance of death. I am pretty sure that story wasn't in the Bible.

The Bible mini series
The Bible mini series was very watchable and highly recommended.
Less violence, more old testament stories (dozens more?), angels not dressed in robes and armour would have all suited me nicely.
Hippy Jesus was a pleasant break after the emotional blackmail of JesusHeart (The Passion) in which Mel Gibson's hammered his suffering message relentlessly. Well, yes, Mel, he sure suffered, but there was more to the story than that...

CGI
Noah wasn't helped by the fact that the movie
featured trailers for yet another Transformers movie and Teenage Mutant
Ninja Turtles. We were already primed for more CGI treebeard wannabees.
Bad choice by the film distributors.

Noah & the Rock Monsters
We saw the new Noah movie tonight, starring Russell Crowe. My Hubby called it "Noah & the Rock Monsters".
Rather than follow a spiritual approach, the film went down a different route, falling somewhere between Lord of The Rings, Harry Potter, graphic novel adaptations and 1970's wildlife footage.
I'd sooner watch the recent Bible mini-series.
