Valentine's Day
My husband and myself don't celebrate Valentine's Day. We have no reason to. Neither of us need a yearly reminder to express love through the words of others (greetings cards), clichéd gifts (chocolate/flowers).
Our love is shown in how we treat each other every day and our love is felt in every gaze, word and cuddle.
Some people need to follow the rest and conform to other people's ideas of what should be done, how and when. I understand. It is comforting to follow. To not think.

Marilyn Monroe
Another Hollywood actress that deserves mention is Marilyn Monroe. Superficially she seems to be a victim of the need to please men and acquiesce to a male agenda, however, this is not the case. Monroe demonstrates a wry humour and an artful, often subtle manipulation (and dominance over men) in pretty much all of her most famous films. Her child-like voice, kooky behaviour and coy mannerisms disarm and beguile her male counterparts. Although these are not traits I'd care to embrace personally, Monroe accomplishes her aims with panache.
In Gentleman Prefer Blondes, a rich father accuses Monroe of just wanting his sons's money. Monroe immediately makes it clear that she wants the father's money, not the son's. Hardly a fool or bimbo?

Eco-Atkins/Rose Elliot low carb diet
Been doing the eco-Atkins/Rose Elliot low carb diet (carb cleanse phase) and have more or less reached my ideal weight.
The diet isn't hard work; you don't feel especially hungry. But it does make the mind a bit antsy.

Thunderbirds - more clever than you realised?

BMI
I've been researching diet and weight relative to Asian frame and discovered that if you're 5 feet tall or under, BMI isn't accurate.
If your wrist measurement is 5.5 inches or under, you have a 'small frame' and your ideal weight may be less than the BMI suggests.
