Was The Last Jedi any good?

This is a hard question to answer. Compared to Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Cone Wars TV show and Rebels TV show - the answer must be a resounding no.

But it did have its merits:

1. Old Luke Skywalker: all in all I thought he was pretty cool and I liked much of what he had to say. He rallied against the myth/legend of the Jedi and saw the need to set the past aside.

2. The theme of discarding the past. Kylo Ren continued this theme also.

Not so good:

1. Really bad contemporary-style jokes.

2. Rey's amazing skills considering she had next to no actual jedi training

3. Snoke

4. Poe Dameron killing off more of the Rebel Alliance than the First Order did. Why didn't someone just blow his brains out?

5. Captain Phasma

6. Princess Leia flying through space
